Summary The Senior Director will support the VP, Facilities, Design and Construction by providing leadership of system wide facilities design and construction activities. The position, in collaboration with individual hospital facilities, will have oversight of all facility-based capital design and construction projects on all University of Colorado Health (UCHealth) affiliated campuses.
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
10 years of increasingly responsible experience; 10 years of senior supervisory experience with an emphasis in healthcare environment.
Must include previous experience with overseeing renovation and construction programs in excess of $50,000,000 in large, complex, multi-phased, new and replacement hospital/facility construction setting.
Experience in overseeing planning, design and construction of projects, and advanced knowledge of the design and construction industry and standard practices.
Master's degree in appropriate field. Job specific certifications including licensure and certification in discipline.

Primary liaison between UCHealth Vice President, Facilities, Design and Construction and all individual affiliated Hospitals for the safe and efficient execution of all of all facility-based capital design and construction projects.
Participates as a senior member of the UCHealth executive leadership team.
Shares the responsibility for effective utilization of resources, program implementation, program evaluation and policy development for the system.
Directs the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon Vice President's directions, goals, policies and growth objectives.
Utilizes physical resources of the system to its fullest potential.
Provides system-wide senior leadership to the Design and Construction Departments throughout UCHealth to ensure coordination and management of Design and Construction activities to achieve consistency across all facilities.
Oversees and directs all capital expenditures for construction and alteration of UCHealth System facilities, infrastructure and real property, consistent with the planning and design goals and standards of UCHealth System.
Ensures the delivery of quality customer focused services that include a large employee group with wide ranging educational and skill levels including departments such as Facilities Design and Construction throughout UCHealth.
Oversees the fiscal, personnel and program management as it relates to the Design and Construction Departments for the UCHealth System .
Directs the development and implementation of design, construction, and facility standards to ensure projects are executed at appropriate levels of quality, are compatible with the UCHealth mission and vision, and are effectively commissioned prior to occupancy.
Works in cooperation with UCHealth Finance and Internal Audit in establishment of systems to monitor project performance against budget authorization, project schedules and established quality control standards.
This includes identifying variances and working with the Design and Construction staff at the individual campuses to develop and implement system-wide consistent practices to correct ineffective operations.
Develops, recommends, coordinates, and implements new or revised procedures, UCHealth policies, and programs to ensure UCHealth effectiveness; analyzes UCHealth process effectiveness; recommends and implements changes as appropriate for affiliated Hospitals.
Actively participates in professional organizations and associations to keep knowledgeable and current on health care issues and trends.
Will actively lead and participate in continuing education programs internally.
Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education, conferences, and seminars; attends and updates mandatory training.
Understands and demonstrates knowledge of national Patient Safety Standards and participates in system-wide activities and initiatives to improve and ensure a safe environment.
Develops and maintains quality and performance improvement, patient safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives. Assists in maintaining compliance with Joint Commission (JC) accreditation and other internal and external regulatory/accreditation standards including the code of conduct.
