In this position, the Medical Technologist performs testing in one or multiple departments consisting of chemistry, hematology, blood bank and microbiology. .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Is competent and performs laboratory testing in all assigned areas
Evaluates specimen integrity when applicable
Makes sure to report out accurate and compete test results
Researches all delta checks to ensure testing accuracy
Calls all critical results
Handles Quality Assurance Flags
Reports any abnormal observations or unusual circumstances
Prepares and labels reagents, controls, and standards
Recognizes instrument malfunction, trouble shoots problem and /or calls service representative
Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements Requirements are representative of the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
Proof of Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related science within 30 days of hire date
ASCP registered(or equivalent) or able to obtain ASCP registration within 45 days hire date
Current Montana CLS license or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire date
Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment
Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position
