Job Title : Charge Nurse Emergency Room - Night Shift
Serves as a clinical resource and acts as a role model for staff. Is the liaison between staff and management, assisting the Manager/Director in determining staffing needs and identifying problems. The Charge Nurse assists the staff in patient care assessment, planning interventions and be involved in problem solving. The position requires budgetary commitment to the staffing matrix, peer evaluations, chart audits and management duties as assigned. When the need arises the Charge RN will perform other duties as assigned by the Director/Unit Manager.

4:1 RN to patient ratio

High Risk OB/GYN Services
Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment
Neonatal Intensive Care
Limb Preservation Center
Pediatric ER staffed with Pediatric ER nurses and board-certified pediatricians

Required Job Qualifications include:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse; BLS – Healthcare provider, ACLS and PALS required upon hire. TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or equivalent, ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6 months of hire.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
Experience: Two years experience as an RN.
Special Qualifications: Continuing demonstration of clinical and leadership competency. Commitment and understanding of staffing matrix/productivity standard. Committed to the goals of the unit and patient focused care.
Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Patient Care Director, Nurse Manager. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
