To provide leadership in the daily operations of Hospital. The CNO has responsibility and accountability for leading hospital clinical operations by working through directors and other health care team members in providing patient care 24 hours/day and 7 days/week. The CNO exercises accountability for nursing care wherever it is provided in the Hospital. The CNO assumes active leadership role with Community Board, Senior Leadership, Medical Staff, and with hospital leaders in Hospital and Centura Health.
Masters Degree in Nursing (Masters in other discipline acceptable if holds BSN in nursing)
Nurse Executive Certification or Eligibility

Current CO RN License

Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment -20 %
Maintains knowledge of current nursing practice and the roles and functions of patient care team members. Articulate patient care standards as published by JCAHO, CMS, and professional nursing organizations. Ensure compliance with the Colorado Nurse Practice Act and regulations. Directs delivery of patient care.
Ensures clinical policies and procedures are current in accordance with evidence-based practice and professional standards.
Maintains current knowledge of patient care delivery systems with associated staffing plans and integration of technology.
Interprets the impact of state and federal legislation on nursing and healthcare organizations. Participate in policy development as necessary.
Represents nursing and patient care issues at the Community Board.
Understands clinical and financial outcomes that are sensitive to the structural and process of nursing practice. Integrate the reporting of these outcomes and required process improvement into decision making at the executive level.

Articulates the business model for Hospital, understands how it relates to the industry and marketplace, demonstrates the ability to assess situations, diagnose problems, and determine appropriate course of action to enhance the effectiveness of the organization in alignment with the mission and values.
