The Vice President, Specialty Care Strategy is responsible for providing clinical and managerial health care leadership and possesses a strategic focus for our multispecialty group. In collaboration with the executive team, facility partners, strategic partners, and payors, this individual guides system-wide strategies that capitalize on CHPG's and Centura's strengths. This includes creating alignment across CHPG practices, embodying the "triple aim", and maximizing value for the consumer. Understanding Centura's business model, industry and marketplace; the Vice President, Specialty Care Strategy demonstrates the ability to assess complex situations, diagnose problems and determine the appropriate course of action to enhance the effectiveness of the organization and in alignment with core values. In addition, the Vice President, Specialty Care Strategy is responsible for creating high-performing teams of Medical Directors. These teams lead clinical direction, develop provider talents, and engage physicians to become empowered business partners, with the goal of improving care and quality. This position reports to CHPG CEO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead clinical strategic discussions and work to gain consensus across business groups for strategic implementation
Participate in strategic planning for clinics, service lines, and sponsoring facilities
Advise in development of integration practices between clinic, facility, home health, or other appropriate divisions
Demonstrates the ability and willingness to continually improve and minimize variation in operational processes and systems.
Provider Staff Development: monitor capacity and identify current/future needs for provider positions, actively participate in recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring of providers to maximize the engagement and effectiveness of our team
Close coordination and collaboration with the Medical Director of Quality & Safety, the Medical director of Transformation, Medical Director of Informatics, the Value Optimization team, and the Office of Medical Affairs
Effective utilization of lean principles
Promote Innovation: identify new technologies and treatment modalities and implement within strategic plan
Coordinate and lead functional areas to achieve national accreditation as it relates to the "triple aim"
Coordinates medical staff activities to maintain state and federal regulatory standards.
Medical Director and physician performance oversite
Strong previous performance of providing quality and efficiency in patient care and operations
Strong track record of recruitment, retention of talent and leadership development
Budgetary, P&L and Quality Assurance experience for physician practices
Experience in improving organizational performance in a changing environment
Experience in facilitating and leading multidisciplinary teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates problem solving and decision-making skills
Demonstrates ability to organize and work with groups of people
Ability to present data to professional groups and institute changes based on the data presented
Seven years experience in health care with three years management experience preferred
Preferred: Experience in an acute health care setting as a practicing clinician
MD, prefer board certification in specialty area. with MBA or MHA preferred in addition to medical licensure.
