Job Requirements (Core Competencies)
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Prefer medical experience/medical terminology experience.
Other required skills and abilities: Good clerical, organizational, multitasking and public relation skills. Knowledge and skill in computer systems. Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team.
Physical Abilities: Vision sufficient to read medical records, documentation. Hearing sufficient to interact with customers.
JOB SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, the scheduler gathers essential information about patients, enters information into the computer, generates account numbers and schedules procedures.
