The successful candidate is responsible for reviewing insurance reports, resubmitting and working corrected claims and appeals. Regular review and management of aging claims and accounts receivable, as well as comprehensive follow up to maximize reimbursement.
Helpful skills to possess:
Â·Full cycle medical billing experience
Â·Familiarity with government or commercial payors
Â·Knowledge of CPT (procedures), ICD-10 (diagnoses), and modifiers
Â·The ability to read and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB's) or interpret denials
Â·A basic understanding of accounting procedures such as debits/credits
Â·Experience with insurance claim appeals
Â·Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Excel)
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in a healthcare environment/medical office. Highly prefer experience with insurance follow-up.
