Hospital: SUMMIT HOSPITAL
Schedule: .90 FTE
Shift: Variable- 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts
Call:2 weekdays & 2-24hr weekend in a 6 week period
Weekday call midnight - 6am
Weekend 24 hr call 6am - 6am
Seasonal RN position in the PACU! Work and Ski! Starts in November 2017- runs through April 2018
Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
One year experience preferred
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Current Colorado RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required;
Additional certifications may be required (refer to facility addendum(s)
Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
PALS required upon hire
ACLS required upon hire
2 years of Critical Care (ICU, ED) experience required
UNIT SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS REQUIRED:
Manages and expedites flow in the department
Has authority to make decisions regarding staffing according to patient care needs
Ability to handle/solve patient care/staff related administrative problems
Assist in patient care PRN
Assist with out-patient procedures
Liaison for front desk/physicians
Obtains acuity statistics
Handles ambulance calls (bat phone)
Handles nurse calls
Takes report from facilities sending patients to SMC
Expedites transports for facility
Ensures everyone has a lunch break (when not on minimal staffing)
Oversees immediate needs & triaging for MCI as outlined in disaster manual
