Assists in the preparation of an accurate statement of the facilities expenses and non-patient revenues, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with the internal and external audit needs. Prepares and reviews financial statements, journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations. Assists directors and department managers in understanding the financial side of their operations. Takes initiative to resolve issues and concerns. Exhibits good decision making skills. Evaluates existing procedures for financial transactions and recommends methods of reducing time and cost of operations.
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent work and educational experience.
Minimum Experience Requirements
One year of experience in accounting or related field; preferably with a health care system.
Must be proficient in the use of accounting software and spreadsheet applications, preferably Excel.
Position Duties (Essential Functions)
Accounting – 25%
Responsible for the timely and accurate posting of accounting entries to the general ledger system. Reconciles all assigned balance sheet accounts by the established deadlines.
Reporting – 25%
Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Prepares financial statements and appropriate analysis in the required timeframes. Responds to all situations in a positive, professional manner.
Financial Analysis – 25%
Performs monthly analysis and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy of reported financial data.
Problem Solving – 25%
Demonstrates analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem solving abilities while performing general position duties.
Sedentary Work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert/lift up to 10 lbs force occasionally)
