Faculty position teaching first, second and third year Family Medicine Residents in all patient care settings, caring for patients directly in all patient care settings and providing administrative support to the program.
Up to 40% (four half days per work week, on average per annum) direct supervision of resident physicians in the Family Medicine Center.
Up to 40% (four half days per work week, on average per annum) direct patient care in the Family Medicine Center.
20% (two half days per work week, on average per annum) administrative duties, faculty development, academic preparation.
Direct patient care will include care for an assigned panel of patients in the ambulatory setting at the Family Medicine Center as well as care of patients in the acute hospital, post-acute care and long-term care settings.
Scope of care includes general family medicine including minor surgical procedures, Orthopedics, and Obstetrics.
Clinical faculty providers are encouraged but not required to develop procedural skills including colposcopy, LEEP, flexible sigmoidoscopy, nasopharyngoscopy, and vasectomies.
Assist in precepting Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Teaching duties will include (but are not limited to) direct resident supervision in the ambulatory setting at the Family Medicine Center as well as in the acute hospital, post-acute care and long-term care settings, lecture/discussions delivered at resident conferences as assigned, audio/video/live reviews with resident physicians, providing on-call supervision of residents outside of regular office hours (shared equally with all physicians on faculty).
Administrative Duties will include (but are not limited to) advising/mentoring assigned resident physicians, resident recruitment, attendance at all faculty meetings, assisting in the supervision of nurse practitioners and physician assistants practicing in the Family Medicine Center, participation in PVH medical staff committees as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited medical school.
Unrestricted Colorado Board of Medical Examiners physician license.
Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
Appropriate credentialing through Medical Staff Services.
