We also work closely with the department medical director on everything from daily operations to specialty studies.
Toxicology includes routine therapeutic drug monitoring, such as immunosuppressant testing for our hospital's outstanding transplant services and high complexity lab developed testing performed on GC, GCMS and HPLC instruments. Our plans are to expand into LCMS testing soon to accommodate growing needs. We offer specialty testing not otherwise provided in the Denver Metro area. Staff works closely with both the technical director and medical director with daily operations and developing new assays.
Special Chemistry includes batched testing across multiple instruments that perform routine immunology testing and more complex hemoglobin and serum protein electrophoresis testing. Our staff is highly detail oriented and has a strong interest in this area as noted with their combined 105 years' of experience working at UCHealth. Staff works closely with pathology residents, medical directors and the Colorado State Dept of Health. The testing is challenging, rewarding and supplies a sense of accomplishment to our technical staff. As our test volumes grow, so does the need to train and mentor others to be a part of our specialty team.

We are looking for individuals who recognize, like us, that the world of medicine is ever-changing and are motivated to do what is right, not what is easy.
