Responsible for the insurance precertification and authorization for Outpatients for Memorial, OPMC and the VA.
Provides coverage for patient registration and the efficient flow of operations and maintenance at the outpatient center.
Assists with referrals and sales to promote outpatient center services.
Register and admit outpatients.
Verify all insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
Process patient charts according to paperwork flow.
Welcome and direct patients and family members to the correct areas.
Pre-register patients prior to appointments.
Collect all payments for services.
Order supplies and assure satisfaction with multi-specialty suites.
Communicate effectively with customers .
Maintain daily and monthly productivity reports.
Maintain building/licensure requirements and permits.
Develop procedures for the authorization/scheduling service product including tracking VA pts.
Train employees in performing the process and periodically monitor for compliance.
Update the process as necessary to maintain payors' current requirements.
Establish relationships with referral sources and serve as a resource for any issue relating to
Memorial, providing necessary direction for resolution.
Accompany the sales team on business calls to promote the service.
Prepare and deliver presentations that clearly explain the process and its benefits.
Provide additional education to office staffs as needed, making site visits if necessary.
Prioritize workload assuring timely completion of all referrals.
Design volume reports and submit monthly for review.
Identify and inform sales and operations directors of any changes in referral patterns .
