Performs a variety of computer system administration and support tasks such as supporting PC and printer hardware, operating system, software applications, and peripherals for the entire organization. Will also troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems. Conducts research on new technology as requested. Performs a variety of project tasks and requires good communications and customer service skills with the ability to work with users diplomatically and skillfully. Understands Ethernet topology, and IP communications. Participates in projects as assigned such as application support, vision scope creation, and small project management. Required to rotate on-call in a 24X7 support environment.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Degree or GED required.
Minimum Experience Requirements
One year experience in desktop troubleshooting.
Knowledge of healthcare operations preferred.
Must be able to work independently.
Preferred: A+ Certification, IP Troubleshooting, ITIL Certification
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
Responsible for providing PC and printer hardware, operating system, software applications, and peripherals support.*
Responsible for submitting new hardware purchase requests and replacement part requests to the appropriate buyer/vendor.*
Determine necessary hardware and cabling requirements for new and existing department locations. *
Assist with planning and or relocation IT hardware as requested.*
Create/update documents detailing "how to/what to do" information for tasks this role is responsible to complete/assist with completing.*
Educate/train other entity techs/contractors about role and responsibilities.*
Responsible for monitoring, tracking, updating, routing and closing incident, IT request, problem and project tickets, as well as work orders in assigned queues.*
Assist with a variety of related projects on an ad hoc basis.*
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
