In this position, the Floor Care Tech performs a variety of floor maintenance and routine sanitation tasks in order to maintain a safe environment of care for patients, families, staff, physicians and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Floor maintenance including carpet shampooing and extraction, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing of floors and cleaning of patient rooms and public areas. Equipment operations including Wet/Dry Vac, scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, buffing machine, extraction machines.
Cleaning Public Areas and Project Work
Duties consist of disinfecting all public areas such as waiting areas, public restrooms - including sinks, toilets, spot washing walls, damp mop, and refill paper products, stairwells –which should consist of trashing areas, damp disinfecting all areas, spot wash walls, and damp disinfecting of handrails, and replacement of blinds.
Disposal of Regular and Biohazardous Waste and Linen
Responsible for knowledge of proper procedure for separating regular waste versus biohazardous waste, proper disposal of needles, and storage of clean and dirty linen
Maintains all equipment in good working order.
