Cardiology Lead Physician:
This position includes the general expectations of departmental medical directorships as follows:
Serve as practice liaison, primary communication point up and down the organizational hierarchy, and work to optimize efficiency, culture, quality, patient experience and communication.
People and Communications
In partnership with the Assistant Administrator and Administrator, participate in interviewing for essential staff, and providing feedback and input for personnel related matters.
In this role, the medical director will work with the management of the Clinic for immediate, collaborative resolution of issues.
In partnership with the Assistant Administrator and Administrator, the medical director will establish procedures to ensure operational efficiency, consistency and quality of all services provided and participate in the Clinic's total quality management and regulatory initiatives as needed. Additionally, the medical director will ensure the development of standards of care, clinical pathways and clinical outcome indicators.
In addition, the cardiology lead physician will have practice specific responsibilities to include:
Engagement with MMG administration and providers in practice building, including assuring access, outreach clinics and service to the referring community, expansion of services, and support of the multi-specialty group, both inpatient and outpatient.
Engagement with MMG administration in strategic planning for the practice.
Engagement with administrative staff, as necessary, in resolution of patient complaints or dissatisfaction.
Engagement with providers to assure appropriate professional staffing of the clinics and consultative services, and to monitor compliance of providers with MMG principles and practices, citizenship standards, and productivity expectations.
Engagement with Centura service line leadership and CHPG leadership as mutually agreed with MMG leadership, to maintain alignment and allow input at the corporate level.
Serve on MMG Leadership Council
Provide general cardiology care to patients of the practice.
