The Faculty member is a registered nurse who demonstrates expertise in nursing and in teaching nursing. As a member of Mercy Hospital College of Nursing, a Program of Plantation General Hospital, the Faculty member is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, professional care to the patient at the bedside and in the community. This instruction includes advanced assessment techniques associated with a diverse patient population; nursing theory and research; leadership and management skills; and skills in the care of patients with healthcare disparities. Instruction incorporates evidence based practice that assists the student in assuming a leadership role. The Faculty member will support the student with the completion of a meaningful capstone project. The Faculty member will support the overall goals of the College of Nursing and those of the Mercy Hospital, a Campus of Plantation General Hospital.
PhD, DNP, DNSc, or other doctoral degree in nursing from an academic institution that is accredited by a USDOE approved accrediting agency. Candidates that complete the doctoral degree in nursing within six months of hire are considered. Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Florida.
