Director/Associate-Assistant Director/Manager experience in ICU/ED/in-patient strongly preferred. 1+ years of recent Director or, 1+ years of recent Associate/Assistant Director experience strongly preferred, or 5+ years of recent Manager experience strongly preferred.

Provides leadership and administrative direction in the delivery of quality patient care services at University of Colorado Hospital in collaboration with medical staff and other health care disciplines in fulfillment of our mission of patient care, research, education and community service. Supports an environment that promotes our vision. Responsibilities achieved through effective utilization of all resources, implementation of hospital strategic goals and providing leadership for program implementation and evaluation, and policy development. Promotes evidence based practice. Provides an optimum learning environment for students of multiple disciplines. Collaborates with Schools of Nursing for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Provides community leadership in the development of standards of nursing practice and in the overall development of health care policy. The Director of Patient Services is responsible for holding the nursing staff, imaging staff and rehabilitative staff accountable for the management of safe patient care and maintenance of optimal care delivery outcomes. Requirements (education, licensures, certification)
Graduate from an accredited Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
Masters Degree in Nursing or Administration or signed agreement to complete Masters Degree in Nursing within agreed upon specified time frame.
5 years of progressively increasing administrative roles including responsibility for multiple units.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
