Mount Saint Vincent is a Denver, Colorado-based treatment center for children aged 5 to 12 who face severe behavioral and emotional challenges due to trauma, mental illness, abuse, or neglect. We specialize in delivering behavioral health services to children and their families, helping children reach their full potential within their homes, schools, and communities.
Our educational program is designed for children ages five through 12 who need either day treatment, residential or a school-only program in an on-grounds school. Classrooms can hold up to 12 students with a special education teacher and educational mental health worker in each class. Additional services provided include physical education, Title One math and reading, computers, speech/language therapy, occupational therapy and music, art and movement groups. With this is mind, our school is designed to provide a consistent, well-structured system of education and behavioral management that focuses on a childâ??s individual skill level, learning style, cognitive ability, and developmental degree of socialization.
Mount Saint Vincent is looking for a full time teacher to join our team. As a teacher you will be responsible for the educational, behavioral and social development of students and the record keeping tasks of the school. You will provide a structured and safe environment that includes consistent expectations, a neuro-sequential model of therapeutics, clear expectations follow through and direct involvement with the child in the educational and therapeutic experiences and partner with the educational mental health workers.
Preferably one year of relevant experience in a school serving children with special needs.
Bachelorâ??s Degree and Current Colorado teaching license
Teacher I: Accepted /enrolled into a teaching program and obtain a SETA/TTE (Special Education Teaching Authorization/ Temporary Teaching Endorsement).
Teacher II : Teacher certification but obtaining Endorsement in the Generalist/Special Education.
Teacher III: Teacher certification and endorsement in special education. Teacher IV: Masterâ??s Degree with teacher certification and endorsement in special education.
