Schedule: Full Time
Continually monitors patients on telemetry by interpreting and recording ECG rhythms and reporting pertinent changes to appropriate personnel. Responsible for accuracy of reports and error reconciliation. Troubleshoots equipment problems and communicates needs to leader. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Experience Requirements
One year of acute care experience preferred Telemetry experience preferred Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Good verbal and written skills Basic clerical, computer data entry and math skills
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association Successful completion of ECG exam annually
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * ) ■
Demonstrate working knowledge of telemetry monitoring system. *
Responsible for observation and documentation of patient’s cardiac rhythm: every shift, when an arrhythmia occurs, and on each new patient as they are placed on telemetry. RN to co-sign patient’s documented rhythm. *
Recognizes and notifies RN immediately when life threatening arrhythmia occurs.
Promptly responds to all monitor alarms according to department/hospital policy. *
Physical Requirements: Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
