I. Position Summary: The receptionist performs front office administrative work, coordinates patient flow and responds to patient request and inquiries.
II. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
C. Experience: One year of medical office experience preferred. Previous receptionist/customer service experience.
D. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of computers preferred. Demonstrates good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Displays appropriate judgement and problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. Demonstrates excellent and appropriate oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance coverage preferred. The Receptionist must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the patient's life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information necessary to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provide the care needed as described in the office policies and procedures.
III. Degree of Supervision Required: Performs essential functions without constant supervision. Practice Manager provides general direction, assigns projects and evaluates performance.
IV. Orientation Period: Minimum of two weeks contingent upon experience. Extensive orientation may be required and will be determined by the Practice Manager.
