This educator position is for a full time night leader/educator/preceptor. In this role you will precept new staff, be involved with educating and training all staff, and assist the charge nurse as needed.
The RN Unit Educator is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in a specific area of clinical nursing and is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a program of education for an assigned population. Programming includes initial and ongoing staff competency (including a standardized department-based orientation), as well as continued education as identified by needs assessments and regulatory requirement initiatives. Applies policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate to the facilityâs patient population(s). The scope of the education will be determined through collaborative practice with department management, educators, and advanced practice nurses to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care; assumes the role of an educator, facilitator, consultant, researcher and change agent.

Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Nursing
Â Masterâs Degree in Nursing (MSN), Education, or other related graduate field of study preferred
Minimum Experience Requirements
Four years of recent nursing experience
Four years of experience in a clinical specialty preferred
Two years of staff development, academic teaching and /or project development coordination preferred
Requires advanced knowledge in nursing, evidence-based practice methods, and person-centered care concepts
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty unit
Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office products and e-learning platform
Current Colorado RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
Additional certifications may be required (refer to facility addendum) Current appropriate facility identified national certification upon hire, or within one year of certification eligibility Demonstrates progress in obtaining staff development certification within one year of meeting eligibility requirements
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
**This person needs at least 2 years as an ED RN, a BSN, and will need to obtain their CEN ifÂ you donât already have it.
