Natividad is seeking a full-time Supervising Storekeeper. The incumbent will supervise employees whom participate in the requisition, receipt, storage and delivery of records, equipment, materials and supplies and perform other work as required.
Plan and organize the supply and distribution services, including requisition, purchase, receipt, storage, issue and delivery of supplies and equipment
Evaluate customer needs and make decisions regarding specifications and authorize purchases of supplies and equipment
Establish and maintain catalog of supplies and forms with respective ordering instructions
Plan and organize the records management functions, including data entry, storage, retrieval, archive and destruction of client case records maintaining confidentiality
Review current regulations and determine policy regarding storage, retrieval and destruction of case records and confidential material
Plan and organize the forms requirements procedure, including requisition, purchase, printing, storage, issue and delivery of the finished product to the Department staff and Information Systems in direct support of daily operations
Supervise others who perform the relocation of equipment and furniture
Analyze, establish and implement policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and inventory control processes to maintain adequate stock levels for warehouse operations
Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports on inventory control expenditures for management
Confer with manufacturers, vendors and sales representatives on supplies, equipment, blank forms and services required
Review purchase requests and recommend sources that provide the best products and services
Supervise, prioritize, assign and review work; provide guidance and technical direction to subordinate staff; select, train and evaluate warehouse personnel; prepare work schedules, approves vacations or compensatory time
Conduct training for career development and supervise others in the principals, practices and procedures of warehousing supplies, blank forms and records management functions as it pertains to client case records
Establish and implement proper safety procedures and techniques in a warehouse operation
Coordinate unit activities with other units, divisions or county departments to facilitate mission accomplishment Work directly with deputy directors and division chiefs
Serve on committees to develop methodologies, processes and procedures for standardization of client case records in direct support of the department's records management system
Coordinate and supervise equipment and furniture moving, and selective maintenance projects exercising proper safety practices to prevent injuries
May monitor equipment maintenance and repair contracts
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of warehouse practices, computerized inventory control programs and stock record systems; shipping practices and perpetual inventory control procedures; accepted safety practices in lifting/storing materials and operation of warehouse handling equipment; automated records management methodologies, practices and procedures, including confidential material control; forms control and required printing specifications that are needed to meet Department standards; principles and practices of office management relating to work flow, governmental purchasing and maintenance of records; and contract negotiation and administration involving the purchase, lease and maintenance of office equipment/supplies.
