The Clinical Informatics Manager leads the facility and its associated ambulatory and post-acute care areas participation in the planning, development, training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of Clinical Information Systems (CIS) across the enterprise as it relates to care coordination. Leads process workflow redesign and utilizes gap analysis to identify workflow impact of CIS implementations. Directs the strategic interdisciplinary coordination of the clinical information modules within the facility and its associated ambulatory and post-acute care areas. Functions as a liaison for additional Clinical Informatics Systems collaboration as requested. Leads and facilitates the Entity Implementation Team in conjunction with the executive sponsor to execute facility and system wide projects. Acts as change agent at the facility level utilizing process improvement and project management methodologies to implement CIS projects. Serves as project leader/facility deployment manager to ensure smooth, safe, efficient application implementations. Leads and coordinates the implementation of software upgrades with the interdisciplinary team at the facility level. Responsible for facilitating communication from the clinical and non-clinical end users across the various departments while working collaboratively with vendors and technical experts. Represents facility informatic needs during strategic planning. Determines availability of required quality data elements needed for clinical documentation and decision making. Manages resources through different phases of the system life cycle. Works to optimize the clinical design to meet the needs of a large group of interdisciplinary end users, including physicians, nurses, respiratory care practitioners, ancillary, clinical and administrative staff. Analyzes aggregate quality data and identifies patterns within data to access outcomes. Participates in research studies and implementation of research activity as it relates to Healthcare IT. Audits clinical documentation as needed to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and provides education and training as needed. Participates on P&P committees as needed. Keeps current with changes and trends in the informatics and Healthcare IT arena with a strong commitment to lifelong learning. Serves as member of the Centura Clinical Informatics Care Coordination Team, establishing teamwork through appropriate deployment of process, technical, and human resources in collaboration with the Directors of Clinical Informatics, the CNIO and the assigned Project Managers. Approximately 10% or more of travel required throughout the Centura-wide system as needed to facilitate project implementations.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Minimum 5 years clinical experience
Understanding of hospital, ambulatory and post-acute care operations, interdepartmental processes and interdisciplinary interactions and workflows in the healthcare setting.
Basic proficiency with PC software applications (e.g. word processing, MS applications)
Experience with process improvement and/or information systems within a clinical setting preferred
BSN or Bachelorâs Degree in a clinical related area
License or certification in related clinical field
Informatics Certification or equivalent or ability to obtain informatics certification based on eligibility as defined by ANCC guidelines within one year of hire.
Physical Requirements -Â Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
