Perform respiratory procedures under physician direction in all patient areas. Responsible for patient assessments,Â care plans, plan implementation and evaluation, and revision of therapy plan as needed. Collaborates with otherÂ professional disciplines to ensure the most effective and efficient care delivery and achievement of desired patientÂ outcomes. Utilizes knowledge of patientâs age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care. In addition toÂ caring for patients as described above, the Respiratory Therapist Lead will serve in a mentoring capacity for the therapy staff and oversee day to day operations including staffing, clinical competencies, staff development,Â performance evaluations and regulatory compliance. Supports the organization vision and mission and practicesÂ performance improvement techniques to assure the delivery of the most effective patient care.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
High School Diploma
Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program, i.e. CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEPÂ
Associateâs or Bachelorâs degree, preferred.
3 years of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting Knowledge and experience in medical/traumaÂ terminology, disease conditions, pharmacology, treatment modalities, therapeutic testing and interventions
Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and compliance.
Previous leadership experience, preferred.
Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR), preferred.
Current credential of CRT or RRT by N.B.R.C
Current state Respiratory Therapist Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment.
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or obtain within 6 months of hire.
Current PALS certification upon hire or obtain within 6 months of hire.
Physical Requirement -Â Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
