Medical Director in San Antonio, Texas – Full Time + Benefits
Our Hospice Company is seeking an experienced, board-certified physician with a passion for end-of-life care to join our team in San Antonio as a Medical Director. As a Medical Director, you will provide leadership and oversight to our hospice program with a commitment to our mission of preserving the quality of life for those at the end of life.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide medical direction for the care and treatment of patients and families rendered by the hospice care team
Consult with patients’ attending physicians
Educate practicing physicians and others engaged in health care services about the hospice program and its potential benefits to patients

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree with current license to practice in the state where the hospice program in located
Board certification in a medical specialty that deals with care of the terminally ill, such as Internal Medicine, Oncology or Family Practice, with at least a working knowledge of medical oncology and demonstrated expertise in the principles of palliative medicine and symptom management
Membership in good standing on the medical staff of an accredited hospital in the state in which the hospice is located
Medical malpractice and liability insurance in amounts and with carriers satisfactory to our company
