Job Summary
Performs routine duties for patient foodservices, cafeteria, sanitation, support, and special functions requiring foodservices. Assembles, prepares, and distributes food, washes dishes, and maintains all foodservices areas in accordance with required sanitation procedures.
Typical Duties:

Assembles patient trays according to specified diet order, serves hot and cold food according to standards set by the department.

Delivers food, supplies, nourishments, and patient trays to points of usage.

Stores food and supplies issued from the storeroom according to department regulations.

Collects used patient trays and return them to the Food Service Department.

Performs all routing and special cleaning as assigned, including dishwashing, washing pots and pans, equipment cleaning and sweeping and mopping floors.

Removes food waste and trash from department areas and kitchen, cafeteria and other dietary areas.

Dispose of waste according to established procedures.

Operates pressure cleaning equipment, food bender, vegetable cutting machine, can opener, food brewer, dishwasher, and other similar food service equipment.

Operates cash register to record and receive cash sales.

Follows hospital and department safety and sanitation policies.

Attends in-service training and other meetings as required by the department and the hospital.

Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required. (Must provide proof at time of interview)
MUST MEET ALL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AT TIME OF APPLICATION FILING.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and other Characteristics
· Ability to read and write English
· Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations relating to
weights, measures and tallies
· Ability to operate foodservice equipment
· Ability to work with patients and general public
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
· Ability to push, pull, reach, lift, stoop, twist and turn frequently
· Ability to lift up to lift heavy objects
