6 OR Suites
Surgeries performed: Plastics, Orthopedic, Spine, General, GYN, Podiatry, Eyes, Urology, ENT and Robotics Surgery.

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Demonstrates knowledge and application of the surgical process by participation in in services, precepting, and collaborating with the physician on different types of surgical approaches.
Participates and cooperates in the unit based quality improvement processes.
Supports, maintains and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel.
Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patients' right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.
Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.
Attends and provides in service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements.
Follows direction from physician during surgical procedures.
Anticipates patient and physician needs in the Operating Room.
Assists with patient positioning and room turnover and picking cases.
Provides education/training for new scrub technologists and scrub nurses.
Performs in both scrub and assistant role as assigned.
Other duties assigned.
Diploma or Certificate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) (preferred)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider upon hire (required)
Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (BSTSA) as a Surgical Tech (preferred)
Certification through the National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA as a Certified Surgical Assistant. (preferred)
Minimum of 3 years Surgical Technologist experience. (required)
Minimum of 3 years Surgical Technologist First Assistant (preferred)
