The Patient Care Technician demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during procedures performed in the department.
The Multi-Skilled Technician is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment and supplies as needed.
The Patient Care Technician performs delegated duties under the supervision of the RN and assists with direct patient care and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS Certification or completion of Spalding PCT program
Education: Graduation from High School / equivalent.
Experience: Reliability / Organization in previous setting (school or job related). Previous patient care experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates good organizational skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. Some Specified skills may be required by specific departments.
Orientation Period: Minimum of 2 weeks contingent upon experience. Extensive orientation or training may be required and will be determined by Department Director.
Degree of Supervision Required: Under supervision of Charge Nurse, RN, and/or LPN
