Position responsibilities: Performs electrocardiograph, 24 hour, Holter Monitor, Cardiac Stress Tests, and other diagnostic testing as required. Confers with cardiologist to establish requirements for non standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements Monitors and documents test results for physician review Notifies cardiologists of significant scan deviations that may necessitate immediate attention to the patient Cleans and maintains equipment Participates in ensuring adequate levels of supplies Records, charges, copies and charts test results Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities. Assists with transporting patients Orients. and mentors new staff members.
Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience: High school diploma or GED is required
Current Certification in BLS must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital Customer service abilities including effective listening skills Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs Valued but not required educational/licensure, skills and experience: Six months previous experience in EKG preferred Previous experience in direct patient care preferred
