The Laboratory Assistant works as the front desk representative for the Laboratory Department. Serves as a customer service representative greeting patients in the Outpatient Laboratory for our walk-in clients, telephone inquiries, and Physician's office clients. Performs all functions essential to the ordering and reporting of outpatient test requests. Performs those duties related to the reporting and storage of non-HIS/LIS reports on both inpatients and outpatients in an organized, easily retrievable manner. Prints, faxes, and delivers reports as directed. Maintains paper records for regulatory requirements.
Position requirements: High School Diploma, or equivalent. Medical Assistant training preferred. Excellent customer service skills, strong data entry and computer keyboarding skills. Experience with Path Net computer systems and clinical order entry a plus.
Scheduling: Part time/Nights/20 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 10PM - 2AM. Occasional rotating weekends and holidays.
Starting rate of pay: $12.35/hour
