Fawcett Memorial Hospital is currently accepting applications for a Mammography Tech on a PRN/per diem basis. ARRT (M) and BLS required. Flexible availability to cover varied shifts on weekdays and weekends is necessary for consideration.
The Mammography Technologist will:
Demonstrates concern and empathy to patients; Demonstrates accountability and responsibility.
Performs procedures in a caring, compassionate and respectful manner.
Prepares and positions patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
Performs mammography/radiology studies accurately and in a timely manner; Assists in the administration of contrast media.
Conducts pre examination and evaluation and documents all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history, pregnancy, allergies and obtains informed consent.
Obtains high quality images; Facilitates the operation of radiographic equipment and assists the radiologist in performing special examinations.
Maintains effective communication with patient; Provides explanation of procedures.
Proactively communicates with radiologists regarding any unusual clinical findings or history.
Demonstrates use of interdisciplinary team approach to patient care; Collaborates and confers with radiologists, colleagues and other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
Graduate of a 24 month AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
Minimum of 1 3 years current/recent experience as a Mammography Tech; Acute care hospital setting preferred
Current ARRT (M)
Valid Florida licensure (CRT)
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
