Medical City Dallas will open Medical City Heart and Spine Hospital this fall as destination hospitals for highly specialized advanced cardiovascular and spine care. The new facility is conveniently located near Medical City Dallas across Hwy. 75 and Forest Lane.
Dedicated specialized care facilities are designed to be efficient and result in faster recoveries and an enhanced patient experience. Additionally, since the hospitals will be part of Medical City Healthcare, patients will benefit from leading edge treatments and technology, groundbreaking clinical trials and seamless access to the entire network of Medical City Healthcare hospitals and specialists.
Medical City Heart Hospital will have 63 private patient rooms and provide a wide array of cardiac services including complex vascular and heart surgery, advanced heart failure treatment, minimally invasive vascular surgery and other specialized heart care. The facility will also have the only dedicated cardiac emergency room in Dallas.
The 24 bed Medical City Spine Hospital will provide comprehensive and coordinated spine care for common spine disorders and rare, hard to treat spinal deformities including adult and pediatric scoliosis, spondylolistheses, complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options among others. Nationally recognized board certified, fellowship trained surgeons with more than 40 years of groundbreaking experience will conduct industry leading scoliosis research.

Registered Nurse RN Progressive Care Unit PCU
FULL TIME Days, Rotating Weekends
The PCU RN manages the nursing care of critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act with emphasis on the cardiovascular service line
Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
Maintain a safe and therapeutic Progressive Care environment
Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual Progressive Care patients
Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding healthcare
Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
Participate in cardiovascular department specific initiatives and process improvement
Promote a supportive Progressive Care environment
Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs
Maintain high quality (age specific) care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as assigned
Support the mission, vision and values of the organization

BSN required within 24 months of hire
Current TX licensure as an RN or valid compact license
Current BLS Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association)
Current ACLS (American Heart Association)
Must have a minimum of one year experience as an RN in a high acuity PCU or critical care unit
