“Storks Landing” Delta County Memorial Hospital’s Birthing Center’s vision is to create a memorable birthing experience for our patients and families. Our unit was designed to follow the model of “Single Room Maternity Care”. Our nursing staff delivers couplet care, attending to both the mother and the infant. We have 6 LDRP suits (Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum). We have 2 triage rooms; our C-section room is right on our unit and our C-section patients are returned to their LDRP for their postop recovery.
Delta County Memorial Hospital has a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse position available to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Full time position – Night Position 36 hours week/ 12 hour shifts Shift is 6pm – 6am
$4.00 Night Shift Differential
The tasks and responsibilities include: •Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs including obtaining patient history and assessing for labor risk factors. •Carries out physician orders. •Cares for patients requiring fetal assessment/fetal monitoring. •Manages the patient's pain including epidural and patient controlled analgesia administration management. •Administers prescribed medications and monitors vital signs. •Assists physician during delivery, treatment, examination and surgical procedures. •Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care. •Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. •Instructs and educates patients and families. •Provides age and culturally appropriate care. •Orients and mentors new staff members. •Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications • Current licensure as an RN in the state of Colorado. • 2 years experience preferred • Current certification as a BLS, ACLS and NRP. • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
