JOB SUMMARYL The receptionist greets each patient and family member as they arrive at the Center. Arrives the patient, issues the registration face sheet, history form and patient bill of rights. Make corrections to patient data (procedure, insurance or referring physician). Alerts the staff that patient has arrived. Assumes responsibility for all activities pertaining to the reception area. Is responsible for answering phones, taking messages and directing phone inquiries to the proper person/place. Performs clerical duties without requiring constant supervision. Exercises good judgment in dealing with patients. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Must have a natural friendly and inviting personality; with the ability to interact with patients, family members, physicians and co-workers. Great computer skills with the ability multi task between programs. Some medical terminology necessary for this position. Knowledge of commercial and government insurance plans helpful. Must have the ability to multitask and work in a high volume area with good organizational skills and attention to details.
EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent.
REQUIREMENTAP: Computer skills and medical terminology required. Successful completion of the CPAR course. (Certified Patient Access Representative) Typing skills helpful but not required. Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
