The CWOCN or CWON serves as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute, chronic, and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems, such as complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, and incontinence. The CWOCN or CWON should be prepared to provide the scope of the CWOCN or CWON practice which also includes other components such as education, counseling, research, and administration.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
RN License required;A Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
Current Board Certification as a CWOCN or CWON a maintains recertification every 5 years per WOCNCB standards
BLS from the American Heart Association required
One year of RN experience required
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Physical Requirements -A Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly).
