I.Position Summary: P/SL Food service department is looking to hirefriendly food service workers to help assemble patient meals and deliver topatient’s beds side. Applicants need to have Excellent People skills and astrong compassion for caring for others. 6 months restaurant/kitchen orcustomer service preferred. The Food service department staff work mostweekends and holidays. One of the most importantthings in a hospital is its food service. Patients need nutritious food to bedelivered to their rooms in a timely manner and hospital food service workersare hired to make sure that this is taken care of. Hospital food serviceworkers do not only deliver food to patients; they also help in the preparationof food items in accordance to instructions provided for each individualpatient. The tasks that hospital food service workers perform i.e. Patient trayassembly, Delivery of patients trays to bedside, Excellent customer service,Tray retrieval, Ware washing and general cleaning. This position requires anannual flu shot as well as being required to use a computer for onlinetraining.

B.Education: High Schooldiploma or equivalent preferred.
C.Experience: Six months Food Service experience inhealthcare, hotel, or hospitality service preferred.
D.Special Qualifications: Must be ableto speak, read, write and understand English. Must show good judgment and reliability. Must show excellent customer service skills.
III. Degree of supervision required: Involvesgeneral guidance and direction by the Supervisor on duty, Clinical NutritionManager or as needed by, the Director of Food & Nutrition Services. Employee will be expected to perform most jobduties independently and in accordance with established departmental andhospital policies and procedures.
IV.Ages of Patients Served: Thisposition requires knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients andfamilies. Personnel in this positionmust recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in eachage category. The employee must be ableto demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their familiesaccording to standards. (The skills andknowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, trainingor experience.)
