Under the supervision of the laboratory manager,performs EEGs in the laboratory and at the bedside of critically ill patientsin the intensive care units.PerformsAmbulatory EEG recordings and electrocerebral silence tracings.Performs intensive neurodiagnosticmonitoring(INDM) of patients in theepilepsy center.Performs evokedpotential recordings. Assists physicians in EMG, NCV and TCD studies. Shares anon-call rotation with other staff for emergency studies.
BLScertification from American Heart Association required.
Mustbe ABRET EEG registered.Knowledge/experience in neurophysiologic testing including evokedpotentials.
Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostictechnology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education andAccreditation or equivalent formal training. Some college level work ispreferable.
2 years minimum experience in Neurodiagnostictechnology (may include time spent in training).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Able to independently perform routine EEGstudies as per job-specific criteria.
Degree of Supervision Required
Minimal – individual proceeds on his/her owninitiative in compliance with policies, procedures, and practice prescribed byimmediate supervisor.
Orientation Period: 90 days
