The Wound/Ostomy RN provides acute andrehabilitative patient care to wound and ostomy inpatients and outpatients; isresponsible for direct patient care, education, planning, directing andprovision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Colorado NursePractice Act, Physician Orders, recognized nursing techniques and policies,procedures, established clinical competencies; demonstrates critical thinkingand leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient; isresponsible for meeting the clinical competencies set forth by TMCA/CMP. Whenthe need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Currentlicensure in the State of Coloradoas a Registered Nurse; BLS– Healthcare provider.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursingwith a BSN; entry into WOC Nurse Education program or Board Certification byWOCN Society, preferred within 6 months of employment.
Experience: Minimum of two years acute care; WOC Nurse experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Providescourteous, positive and professional image. Demonstrates superior interpersonal skills, ability to problem solve andhandle multiple priorities. Knowledge ofgeneral nursing theory and practice including, but not limited to, asepsis andsterile technique, principles of body mechanics, and medicationadministration. Knowledge of learningprinciples for all ages and the ability to teach and develop an effectivepatient education program within scope of practice. Demonstrates good skills in all forms ofcommunication. Maintains education anddevelopment appropriate for the position.
