Position Summary: The Pharmacy Technician, under the supervision of a Pharmacist, prepares unit dose medications, IV admixtures and chemotherapy. The Technician also delivers medications, processes patient billing and maintains pertinent records.

Position Requirements: Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Within 12 months of hire date
High school diploma
previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform work accurately with attention to details. Able to develop skill in drug compounding, preparing IV admixtures and chemotherapy, and general dispensing functions. Possess communication, teamwork, customer service, computer, problem solving, and organizational skills. Driver’s License/Vehicle: Occasionally may require driving to deliver pharmaceuticals to off-site HealthONE pharmacies such as free-standing emergency departments or surgery centers; employee needs access to a personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and a current auto insurance policy.
Degree of Supervision Required: Prepares medications and IV solutions under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Performs other duties with minimal supervision
Orientation Period: 2 – 4 weeks (May be modified at the discretion of the manager).
