Hospital care in the heart of Denver
Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center (P/SL) provides state-of-the-art, complex medical care in the heart of Denver's Uptown neighborhood. Our hospital and emergency room treat patients from all over the Rocky Mountain region. We offer a range of services, including pediatric, high risk pregnancy, heart care and weight loss solutions.
Our full-service facility also offers a Cancer Center distinguished by the Commission on Cancer as a Center of Excellence, with the largest Bone Marrow Transplant Center in the Rocky Mountain region. P/SL holds centers of excellence designations in neonatal intensive care, spine and joint care and bariatric surgery as well as stroke certification and level IV trauma.
The Unit Secretaryperforms assigned tasks and activities that include the clerical functions suchas transcription of orders, computer data entry, maintenance of patientactivities for the records, telephone answering and unit reception. TheUnit Secretary/ED Clerk serves as the receptionist of the unit, assists in thecoordination of daily unit operations and performs clerical and supplyduties. Serves as a resource to others. Assists in the daily coordinationof the unit. When need arises, will perform other duties as assignedby supervisor.

Education: Completion of high school or GED. Formal training course in medical terminology or equivalent jobexperience.
Experience: Previous customer service and secretarial experience preferred.
Special Qualifications: Demonstrates good organizational skills. Sufficient knowledge of medical terminology and technical terms toaccurately transcribe physician’s orders and to complete requisitions. Displays appropriate judgment and problemsolving skills. Communicates positivelywith all internal and external customers.
