Position Summary: The Lead Patient Care Tech performs assigned tasksand activities according to skill level and patient needs as assessed by theRN. The Lead Patient Care Tech supportsnursing personnel in providing care
to patients and assists with providing a safe, quiet, clean, organizedenvironment for healthcare delivery. TheLead PCT is responsible for assistance with patient care, transportation ofpatients, specimens and supplies; cleaning and stocking the department andpatient rooms and other duties as assigned. The Lead PCT coordinates schedules to meet the needs of the Bone MarrowTransplant Department for PCTs. The LeadPCT is responsible for delegation of equipment tracking. In conjunction with Manager, and CNCs, theLead PCT assists with the interview, orientation and evaluation process forPCTs in the Bone Marrow Transplant Department. Acts as a resource for PCTs and makes recommendations for improvedpatient care and satisfaction. Acts asliaison between PCTs and the Charge Nurses and management. Attends required staff meetings. When the need arises, will perform otherduties as assigned by supervisor.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Nursing Assistant Certification or EMT Certification, or must havecompleted first year at an accredited Nursing program which included amedical/surgical rotation. BLS-Healthcareprovider.
Education: High school diploma/GEDrequired. Successful completion of yearly competency skills.
Experience/ Special Qualifications:
One year hospital experience preferred.
Knowledge of basic clinical practices, procedures, and standards.
Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patientcare.
Basic knowledge of computer systems and good interpersonal skills.
Strong critical thinking skills, leadership skills, and communicationskills.
Degree of Supervision Required: Involvesgeneral guidance and direction by the Patient Care Director, Nurse Manager,Unit Charge Nurse or Staff RN. Employeewill be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordancewith established departmental and hospital policies and procedure
