2+ years of recent trauma RN experience strongly preferred. 1+ years of recent manager experience, or 2+ years of recent charge experience strongly preferred.
The Manager with Trauma Services will support the need to increase outreach efforts, provide communication and feedback to referring hospitals in Southern Colorado. The role will be used to promote and manage external mock trauma reviews for Level II-V trauma centers, external peer review of cases, injury prevention program referrals, coordination of injury prevention events, and oversight of multiple educational programs (ATLS, ATCN, RTTDC, STAT Training). Direct reports include FTEs in injury prevention and education.
FTE Status: Full Time
Responsibilities: Assists with developing departmental budget, goals and standards which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the service line and organization.Maintains knowledge of all regulatory requirements and aligns the program for compliance based on institutional objectives that includes all related components in the service line continuum. Maintains a quality program that effectively improves the performance of physicians, staff, processes, and systems related to trauma care that is aligned with national standards. Participates on and leads multidisciplinary teams.Manages staff including performance, development, satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Credentials: Essential: * Registered Nurse * Basic Life Support * Advanced Cardiac Life Support * PALS Certification * Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course * Trauma Nurse Core Course
Other information: Minimum Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or ADN with BSN in progress. Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level. Preferred: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC). Minimum Experience: 3 years relevant experience in acute care. Preferred: Leadership experience. PALS or ENPC, TNCC within 6 months of hire (TNCC/ENPC instructor within 2 yrs)
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
