The Behavioral Health Faculty is a complex and multifaceted position. It is a blend of resident education and evaluation, independent clinician, integrated care team supervision, resident wellness and support, research and/or other scholarly activities, administrative responsibilities, and Centura/community involvement. Responsible for teaching resident physicians to integrate a biopsychosocial approach in their care of patients and their families. This is accomplished through consultation and direct patient care as well didactic and informal teaching of physician in training. Also responsible for teaching mental health students (i.e social work or psychology) placed at the residency as well, if applicable. Accountable for guiding and supporting an integrated team-based approach to patient care in the residency clinics. Provide direct patient care and will also oversee and manage a multidisciplinary team of ancillary care providers (including but not limited to RN Care Coordinators, Patient Advocate, Diabetic Educator, Health Coaches, Care Managers, etc.) that work together as part of the Integrated Care Team. Required to participate in resident evaluation, maintenance of accreditation, and contributing scholarly activities (research, national presentations, etc.) as required by ACGME.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
2 years of clinical experience commensurate with graduate education
Prior work experience in medical setting required
Experience with teaching and/or residency training preferred
Master's degree from an accredited program required
Candidate must be eligible for mental health licensure in Colorado. One of the following is required LCSW ( Licensed Clinical Social Worker) , LMFT ( Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).
Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
