PositionSummary:This position supportsthe mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza.Manages the front desk, which includes greetingpatients, registering patients, entering requisitions, answering phones,burning CD’s and faxing reports. Coordinates with physician offices andradiologists to schedule patients. Completes all paperwork and provides properinstruction to patients for scheduled exams. Responsible for ensuring insuranceauthorization and medical necessity for advanced imaging exams.Coordinates inpatient procedure schedule withtechnologists, Radiologists, and Radiology nurses.Communicates with inpatient nursing staff andordering physicians regarding Radiology procedures.Performs inventory management and supplyordering for the entire Radiology department.Provides clerical support for the technologists, and radiologyadministration, as necessary. Coordinates special projects as assigned.Provides an excellent experience for patientsand visitors, physicians and staff. Assists in the completion of departmentassignments.When need arises, willperform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

D.Special Qualifications:Advanced computer skills preferred.Excellent telephone skills.Musthave the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Knowledge of PC based computer software,i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and/or similar systems preferred.Excellent spelling, grammar, and verbal communication and written compositionskills.Excellent customer serviceskills.
Degree ofsupervision required:Involves general guidance and direction bythe Administrative Assistant. Employee will be expected to perform most jobduties independently and in accordance with established departmental andhospital policies and procedures.
Populationsand Ages of Patients Served:This position requiresknowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families. Personnel in this position must recognize andrespond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category. The employee must be able to demonstrate thespecial skills required to care for patients and their families according tostandards. (The skills and knowledgeneeded to provide such care may be gained through education, training orexperience.)
