Under medical direction the position provides for the implementation and coordination of Respiratory Care procedures based upon the Policies and Practices of the Respiratory Care Department. In addition to the performance of all routine respiratory procedures, the Respiratory Practitioner will be responsible for special procedures, within his/her scope of practice, maintaining and improving clinical competence, practicing universal precautions, maintaining and cleaning equipment, and performing any other duties deemed necessary by the shift supervisor. Also provides consultation, collaboration, and education to the medical staff, nursing, multi-disciplinary care team members, and patients/families.
