Summary:
The Behavioral Health Counselor is a member of the UCHealth Primary Care team and works in collaboration with other primary care providers to manage the overall health of their patients. The Behavioral Health counselor will assist the primary care providers in recognizing, treating and providing focused intervention for patients in need of behavioral health services. The Behavioral Health Counselor will provide warm interdisciplinary handoffs by identifying, referring and advocating for patients who could benefit from specialty behavioral health services including telepsychiatry. Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of health psychology interventions and evidence-based practices delivered in primary care settings. Candidate must be comfortable with the fast pace of primary care and working with interdisciplinary teams to provide consultation and co-management in the treatment of behavioral health concerns. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with primary care providers, staff, patients and other behavioral health clinicians.
