Under the direction of a radiologist, performs general radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical imaging procedures that entail application of ionizing radiation; therefore, prudent judgment, strong technical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position as a general radiologic technologist.
This is a FULL TIME - NIGHT POSITION
Education: Completion of a 2 year radiologic technology program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. 2. Associated degree required, BA/BS degree preferred.
Experience: One year of professional work experience in performing general radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate general radiographic equipment and related technology.
2. Demonstrated competency in the performance of general radiographic imaging studies.
3. Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients and effective interpersonal skill sets that lead to productive communications and collaborations.
4. Competency in interpreting physician order requests for general radiographic imaging studies.
5. Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances.
6. Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures.
7. Ability to handle patient specimens and laboratory equipment.
8. Ability to maintain the expected level of competency.
9. Knowledge of safety and infection control practices to ensure a safe environment of care.
Computers and Technology: Microsoft Office Suite experience required. Electronic Health Management experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required. RT Radiography (required). Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association for Health Care Provider/CPR required.
