This position is accountable for making decisions supported by policy based on confidential financial information both from the facility and from patients to determine qualification for CICP (as applicable), Centura Charity programs, or payment arrangements. Utilizes scheduling and registration information to verify coverage and authorization for all scheduled procedures. After verification of benefits and authorization, HBA/FC populates price estimate tool to decide patient portion. Makes calls to patients, doctors offices, and hospital departments to gather sufficient information to obtain authorization and benefits Collection of patient portion. Acts as a liaison between the patients, physicians, patient clinics, case management, centralized billing office, third party Medicaid eligibility vendor and community agencies.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
6 Months healthcare experience
Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding
Medical terminology with good customer service skills
Preferred knowledge of registration and billing and credit scoring
High School Diploma or GED required
CPR Certification (as required by facility)
Physical Requirements -Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
Per Diem Requirements:
Schedule may include a required minimum of three shifts worked per week including weekends, totaling 12 shifts per month. The minimum covers all shifts, locations, and Penrose St. Francis facilities.
A minimum of 12 shift per month (unless there arent available hours) Minimum of 24 hours worked per week, Sunday through Saturday, per month (unless hours arent available)/ Minimum of 16 hours worked on a Saturday or a Sunday, per month (unless hours arent available).
There is no guarantee of hours or schedule, and hours may fluctuate considerably depending on the needs of the department. If no hours in the department per diem may work any open registration shifts with Supervisor approval/ Associates are paid overtime for any hours worked over 12 hours per day and over 40 hours per week.
