Denver Health & Hospital Authority (DHHA) in the heart of thriving downtown, Denver, Colorado is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our Adult Urgent Care and Downtown Denver Urgent Care centers . Well-established, cohesive group features a full staff of more than 50 physicians, APP's, nurses and techs, opportunities to teach, a high-functioning EMR (EPIC) and a collaborative clinical environment. The Adult Urgent Care Center sees and manages more than 40,000 patients annually. The AUCC is co-located with the Emergency Department and has access to all resources available in the hospital (labs, imaging, CT, MRI, specialists, admissions, etc). The Downtown Urgent Care Center will be a state-of-the-art urgent care center located in downtown Denver.It is expected to manage >20,000 visits annually and will be an 9-bed urgent care center with laboratory and radiology services.The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience as APPs in an urgent care or emergency department setting preferred.
Under general supervision, the APP operates independently to provide primary healthcare to patients. Examines and diagnoses patients and develops treatment plans. As appropriate for clinical setting provides treatment for illnesses, injury, emergencies, prenatal care, follow up, and screening and testing. Performs testing, referral to physicians as needed, writes prescriptions, and performs procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols and available equipment. Must function well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Be highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of using his/her time efficiently in a fluid variable clinic structure where standard work and process are established or modified in a dynamic clinical setting.
