Internal Medicine physicians are primary care doctors who primarily see patients in an office-based setting, in addition to rounding on patients in the hospital. Internists are typically generalists who cover a broad scope of medicine to include total body wellness, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions and illnesses. Internists typically treat adults, some adolescents, and elderly patients.
1. Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients with acute and chronic illnesses, including major and complicated, and perform procedures learned in training.2. Provide preventative and therapeutic care for patients. This includes admit patients, preventative care, acute care, care of injured persons, management of chronic illnesses, and performance of procedures learned in training.3. Supervise house staff in providing care for patients in ambulatory and inpatient settings.4. Performs privileged procedures as outlined in the Denver Health and Hospital Authority General Internal Medicine Clinical Privileges documentation.5. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

* Doctorate Degree (Required) Education: Graduation from an Accredited Medical School and completed Accredited Residency Programs and fellowships for specialist, or equivalent. Equivalent training for those Physicians who are not U.S. residency trained. New finishing residents generally are not expected to be Board Certified but should be Board Certified within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the office of Medical Administration. Experience: Requirements will be determined on a position by position basis.
